Anela Luzi is a German-Albanian actress, performer, and theatre educator. She was born in 1996 in Kaiserslautern and grew up in Karlsruhe at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where her parents worked after migrating from Albania. From 2017 to 2021, she studied acting at the Athanor Akademie für darstellende Künste in Passau, where she developed a strong focus on movement-based and interdisciplinary practices.
She works internationally across theatre, film, and performance. Among other projects, she performed in Exil at the Berliner Ensemble, directed by Luk Perceval. In 2026/2027, she continues collaborating with Luk Perceval on the research project Open Source Piece, which explores the emotional and social dimensions of shame.
Within the independent scene, she works experimentally and through body-based practices, including collaborations with director Paula Lynn Breuer. Internationally, she recently took part in a Uruguayan film production and in the project Venn Bodies by Tschoe One at the Universität der Künste Berlin / HZT Berlin, which explored bodies and collective archives.
In the short films Gaze (dir. Arina Popa) and In Venus (dir. Edith Buttingsrud Pedersen), screened at international film festivals, she explored the female-read body in relation to vulnerability, shame, and self-perception.
In 2026, she also completed further training in theatre education in order to create spaces for encounter, slowness, and artistic research, including within educational contexts. She currently divides her time between Paris and Berlin, where she continues developing collaborative projects at the intersection of performance, film, and theatre. In June, she collaborated with Moritz Tostmann on the reading The Cost of the Night at Bogen 43.
