It is Liridona’s wedding day. Pregnant and married to a complete stranger, she finds herself caught in a web of tradition and expectation. As her mother guides her through the rituals of the ceremony, the young bride struggles with the pressure to conform to the expectations imposed upon her. I played the role of Liridona, drawing on and exploring my own Albanian heritage through the character.
